Why not enforce the already existing ones that cover the same issue rather than making more?

Good question! I think it's a PR move. Shows the voters that they care about the issues they care about. It's more action.

This is just my opinion, I don't have any facts, but the exsisting laws on the books, are still in effect, but some may have to be modified, to existing times. Some laws that were enforcable 20 years ago, might not all apply to the current crime. So I just think that many laws have to be modified for current times.

Because they got nothing better to do. It is more of a feel good measure than anything else. Just like gun control laws,they know it doesn't do any good, but they want to project and image to the public that they are trying to do something.

Otherwise what would the politicians do? They have to have a reason for constant tax raises. Making new laws, that's what they do.
