It's a guy thing to follow the other guys in the "pack" and talk about sex. He's just unsure of himself with you. Maybe you should help him out and be a little more forward. Corner him sometime and lightly kiss him until he relaxes.

Welsh... I got your response to my travel question. You sound like you've had a really bad bad year, more than anyone your age should have to deal with.

cause im the same way
we just talk that way cause usually our frinds start talking about it.
so when tend to try to change the subject, but we just dont care.
i feel its inappropriate and embarrassing talking that way in front of a girl or a girl over hearing it.
and i feel like an asshole that i'm not
so I dont talk that way, he just hangs out with guys who do talk that way.
and yes he is shy....
