Hobgoblin Strong Ale.

It's a strong chocolaty dark ale with ever so much character. Delicious! A superb winter ale.
In summer I prefer an IPA or a light hoppy bear like Hopback's Summer Lightening, but when the days get dark so does my taste in ale.

How long is a piece of string? It depends on your mood and the time of year. you could try a darker winter ale at the moment (theakstons old peculiar is a regualar favourite or jennings redbreast is pretty tasty) or go fo something lighter like a Shepeard neame Spitfire, or any of the Marstons beers including Pedigree, double Drop or old empire, or a black sheep, or for something more exotic try a banana bread beer or on a Sundat try the Revernd james..........oh god...so much beer....so little time.........

Impossible question to answer as it is so subjective and often the quality of the beer depends on the cellarman, but I'd go with Summer lightning, Oakhams JHB, Bitter and Twisted, Dark Star Espresso Stout, Dorothy Goodbody's Stout...... to name a few!

Hobgoblin
a bit of bite and depth, far superior to any lager.
And a cool drawing on the bottle!
