Okay so I started out with 10mg, and i took that for 30 days. And today my derm gave me 40mg. Is that a big difference from 10mg? My acne isnt severe and the 10mg seemed to help. Like my face was very verrry oily and now its not at all, but i still get breakouts, probably daily.
I didnt have any side effects except for dry skin and lips. And my derm told me that my face will get dry even more and so will my lips. so i'm a little scared now.
any advice on how to prevent it at least a little bit.

I'm a 20 year old female, btw. and have been dealing with acne since i was 14.

I'm a 26 yr old female and I'm taking 120 mg one day and 80 mg the next. The only side effect I have is chapped lips, which I had when I was only taking 40 mg/day, and they have actually seemed to get better over the last couple months. But everyone is different, but I don't personally think you will see a huge increase in dryness.

i m 20 years old too this year, currently taking 20 mg accutane, but my dose is constant, 20 mg for 9 months. it's not neccessary to increase the dose . incresing the sode will cause even more side effect. becareful, n the dose for accutane is 0.5-1mg/kg/day.i m 46kg n i m taking 20mg. a little bit underdose, n my acne got controlled at the third month. so far, no serious side effect beside dry lips. ask ur dermatologist about that, ask him why to increase the dose if 10 mg did work for u.

My son was increased to 80mg from 20, so your increase is not that big a deal. Make sure the doctor is checking your liver functions regularly, because accutane can cause damage there.
