Ooohhh! i think i'd have red curtains, like maroon or a dark blood red. It'd go really nicely with the cream. and maybe chestnut/mahogany furniture, sofa etc. and one of those old-looking cream colour dressing (with a mirror) table. good luck with the decorating, im sure it'll look great!!!

Well, Cottage & Cream jumped out at me. Hopefully your furniture is natural wood, not painted. The curtains would be a pattern of Dark Greens / Browns / Rusts and maybe a little gold on a complimenting beige background. Would feel cozy & warm and Rustic for the old cottage feel.

Maybe a mixture of light blues and dark blues (just two colors). This will give a cape cod look, and should look nice. The other idea I have would be to use nuetrals, browns, greens and blues and have a rustic feel. Use lots of woods and irons but that will depend on your taste and whether you like that cabin feeling, more than just a cottage.

I would always stick with pure white curtains, nothing too heavy, and instead of creme I would give a coat of a more buttery colour, it picks up on the afternoon sun and gives you that warm cottage glow. On the bed i would choose something shabby-chic (there are sites on the net which sell stuff), in sage green or any other natural colors, just think of the natural colors of things outside of your house. and toss tons of pillows on your bed. Sounds like a nice place though, enjoy it:)

I would use a nice dark red colour for curtains with the cream walls and then soft furnishings in complementing dark red and cream pattern

Cottages always look right with `chinz` curtains and soft furnishings. Have a look in a few magazines, you can get lots of ideas from them.

deep red perhaps . i would definitely go for a plain colour and not a mix of colours. Brown or terra cotta may work too. Is there alot of wood in the bedroom?

Red is big right now. It looks great with black. If you wanted to stay true
to the cottage theme you could keep to a pastel palette. Soft yellow, blues
and greens with a smidgen of pink. That would be my choice.

I would go with natural colors to compliment the cream. You might want to try a leaf like green or beige.
