Jansport bags tend to stay on my shoulder and they are very strong, assuming you dont mind using a backpack.Might i recommend that you shorten the bag straps so that there is more tension whent it is on your shoulder and and it therefore less likely able to fall off.or if you cant adjust the strap length then just use another make of bag or another type of bag like a backpack.

I have the same problem but I have come to the conclusion the best way to carry a bag is over the head. It is much harder for bag snatchers to operate if the bag is worn diagonally across the shoulders. OK - it doesn't look cool but at least your money and mobile syay a little safer. I have a small shoulder bag and wear it under my coat; safer still. If you really don't go for the across the shoulder look, wear fabrics which are rougher, so the strap won't slide off so easily. Smoothe shiny fabrics will always cause a strap to slide off.

Use your opposite arm to hold it on of course....that is assuming you have another arm...so the other alternative is to get a handbag.

To be honest the shorter the strap the better then you can clench the bag between your upper arm and body and then if the strap falls then it doesn't matter...or get a clutch bag ( I cannot wait for these to come back into fashion)

Oh another idea..make sure all your tops, jackets and coats have epaulets so you can fasten your bag through them.

It's a problem for me too...

I feel an invention coming on.

Yes. glue a small piece of thin rubber to the underside of the strap where it lays on your shoulder and try to find a matching colour to your bag.

it's about posture, stand up straight with squared shoulders and chin up and that bag won't go anywhere. Rounded shoulders and slumping is the cause of shoulder straps falling. Also the cause of "dowager's hump" as you age.

Take comfort in the fact that the more muscularly developed are the shoulders, the more they slope, so bags slide off.

Hold your bag where the strap meets the bag, if you pull slightly down it should stay also it will make it harder for anyone try to steal it from you.

I have the same problem. And if the bag has two straps, one falls down before the other.
