If any of us knew the answer to what causes breast cancer, we'd be famous, we'd have the Nobel Prize, we would be in the hall of fame. For centuries, doctors and scientists have tried to find the cause and cure, not only of breast cancer, but any cancers. While they've made some amazing discoveries and treatments, they haven't found a cure -- just a lot of theories. There are certain conditions that predispose a woman to cancer of the breast, such as heredity, age, lifestyle, etc., but no one knows for sure what causes it. I'm sorry -- I wish I could be of more help.

We don't know in most cases. There are a few breast cancers that are genetic, ref. BRAAC genes 1 and 2, but they contribute to only a few breast cancers.

Google breast cancer and you'll find some very easy web sites.
