I am british, born here not racist. It just looks too crowded here, I wonder sometimes that we dont sink to the bottom of the sea ? It sounds silly perhaps everyone born here should become immigrants. I remember my Mother telling me of an immigration scheme that Australia had way back, late 50's ? one of my Aunts went and is still there, why not reintroduce these schemes to anywhere ?

Actually our population is falling slowly. More and more retired people can afford to move abroad to better climates and Caucasian British people are now having too few children to sustain the population, without immigrants we would not have enough population to sustain our national production levels! A scary thought indeed.
After the war we encouraged people to migrate away as Britain had been badly mauled and the infrastructure was still in the process of being rebuilt, also Australia needed more people to work there. This would not work today - they don't need any more people there. It's a nice place to visit though is Australia (I was just there on holiday a couple of months ago).
The main reason for crowding is that larger houses have fewer occupants these days, 500 years ago a 5 bedroom house would have at least 7 or 8 occupants, these days it will have 3 or 4, and also most large homes do not have servants living in them either these days. So as fewer people live in each house more houses are built and we get more crowded. Crazy eh?
Anyway I think given how sparsely populated the north of Scotland is we could sustain double the current population.
Have a great day.

We have reached saturation point. We need to stop any further immigration to give us a breathing space to deal with the shambles created by this government and the EU. Housing, jobs etc are now a real issue and something needs to be done before the entire house of cards comes crashing down. The only people who would use an immigration scheme would be the British and I don't blame those who are leaving I would advise any young person to do the same.

How many is irrelevant, because they will continue to come. Under the present `laws` we cannot stop them. We are about to face an invasion from the Russian satellite countries, who can legally come here because of the migrant workers E.U. ruling. The government must do something. You can`t blame the immigrants. To-night on T.V. some Polish workers were interviewed, over here they were being paid about £7.00. per hour, in Poland for the same work they would be paid 80pence an hour. The initial thinking was that E.U. migrant workers would come here, but that would be off-set by the number of workers who left the U.K. to work in Europe. It hasn`t worked out that way, the Brits have got better sense!

According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_density
the UK is the 48th most densely populated country in the world - doesn't sound too bad BUT take a look at those 47 that are denser. There are only 2 European countries among them and they are smaller. Most of the others are either small islands/territories or countries with average living standards & wealth-per-head much lower than ours (at present).
Why allow living standards to get worse for later generations - population needs to be kept in check whether it is increasing due to immigration or otherwise.
I trust recent immigrants will all be completing their census forms next year like the government says so the statistics will be acurate?!

You'll find that for every 10 immigrants that come into the country...2 British born people emigrate, so at that rate Great(joke) Britain will begin to fall in 12 years 245 days 7 hours.
I think rats and sinking ships springs to mind.

Sure, just let them all in until you're bursting with immigrants, soon nations won't even matter anymore and all cultures and traditions will succumb to whoever has the most children in the long-run,
many countries will be unrecognizable population wise in about 50 years at this going rate.

Good-bye Europeans and the Western world.
I don't know if America will be able to save you this time.

People with failed governments are immigrating to successful governments. The successful governments greedy for the almighty dollar and more power, failed governments greedy for their share of the almighty dollar through remittances, is cheering this on. To world leaders, over population, unhappy, discontented people is not on their list of things to worry about.

The sending countries didn't take care of their people, didn't make jobs, good wages or benefits available, but expect the target countries to do so.

It's a global, New World Order thing. More countries everyday are intergrating with each other, which prepares for the NWO. More and more people are referred to as residents of a region instead of citizens of a nation, eventually we'll be referred to as "workers" of a region and that's what it's all about.

When our leaders look at us, they want to see $$$ not human beings.

I understand your dilemma. America is a lot bigger, but the illegal aliens are sucking the very life out of america. Our medicaid system will run out in 8 years and our social security system by 2038 and that does not take into account the evergrowing influx of illegals coming in daily. Who are the vast majority of immigrants in the UK?

We have a similar crisis here in the U.S, just like you we are accused of racism if we speak out to stop this influx of illegal immigrants. This is one issue that needs to be addressed from the county level to the National level. I feel your pain.

I wouldn't worry too much, mate. I know a lot of Britons moving abroad to retire- Spain, Portugal, South Pacific.
We need fresh blood in our country. Hopefully coupled with well enforced laws, immigratin shouldn't be a problem. It's the politicians that are making such a big issue over this.
