Well Zgzig, where in the heck did you go to med school, or come up with that.?

In the first place pleurisy is an infection on the lining of the inside of the diaphragm, between the lungs and the diaphragm. It is a fluid build up and can be quite painful. Sometimes it can collapse a lung if you go without treatment. You can end up having the pleurisy drained with a needle. I guess you can die from it if it gets bad enough but, you wouldn't die from the pleurisy although that's what caused it, you'd probably die from a collapsed lung (s)
Anyway, what's all this talk about dying? you shouldn't have to worry. Pleurisy does take a long time to heal and, a long time to go away. It's something that keeps coming back without treatment. You have to keep on it. If you think your having trouble again, go see your doctor, he would know.

Pleurisy is a build up of phlegm in the lung/s .. the lungs stick together (mildly) and when inhaling, the pain is the lung/s unsticking...

I don't see how you could get it from just passing something cold or just out in cold weather.

But if pleurisy is not treated, then it can turn into pneumonia.

You better get that checked by a doctor.
hope all is well.

If you do not cure pleurisy right, yes. My mother had it, and she was in hospital. She got cured in 2 months, but still was coughing for 3 years, while her neighbour - she dies 3 weeks after my mother got out of hospital.
