I just don't get his jokes. I don't think he is funny at all, and I wish he would stop trying to be. Other than that he is 100% dreamy to me. I adore him. I just wish he would not try and make me laugh.

Are we doomed?

My husband's sense of humor can be offensive and after being together for 9 years, I learned to take it with a grain of salt. We make jokes at each other's sense of humor. So yes, you can definately stay in love even if you two are totally opposite when it comes to humor.

I think eventually you`l get really fed up wiv him and find him irritating. U dont say how long u`ve been together, if its less than a year then id be inclined to knock it on the head now( i know thats not wot u want to hear but i think a key ingredient to a lasting relationship is being able to laugh together) It doesnt sound like your on the same wavelength. However, if uve already been together for a year or more i think you should be able to tell him how you feel, he wont be able to change who he is but he might cool off on the joke telling. Good luck with wotever you decide.

Personally, I find it difficult to be with someone who has a distorted sense of humour. It is hard not to show your impatience. Of course, he may think his jokes are funny, and you might be able to cure him by being honest with him. Some people joke because of nervousness or because they think they need to impress you by being funny.

Of course not. If you love someone the first rule is to love them as they are and never try to change them. Just give him a chance at least he is trying to make you laugh and not doing things that would only make you cry.

Communication and respect is the key for a long lasting relationship. If he is an understandable person you can tell him exactly what bothers you. If you feel that you can not talk to him about certain issues then you have a problem.

i don't think you are doomed perse'.... but i do think that sharing a sense of humor helps.

as long as he isn't seriously offending you or doing anything to make you feel stupid or embarrassed , then i think you will survive.

Talk with him about his different-than-your sense of humor. And hope that your other attributes will be enough to keep you two together.

Aside from the fact that you want him to change, he's perfect?
