Is it a purebred or mixed breed? Depending on your answer generally female cats tend to be smaller than males. Some pure breed cats are bred to be smaller that your average mixed breed cat. The other possibility is that mother nature played a trick on your cat and you have a dwarf cat. I've read that it does happen but I don't know how rare it is. Have you taken your cat to the vet to find out if there are any health problems that might prevent the cat from growing? By this time most cats are finished growing as another reader stated; but have the vet take a look at her just to be sure. LL

Adult cats can vary greatly in size and weight. I have three, all about the same age. One weighs 8 pounds, one weighs 10, and one weighs 17. If the cat is healthy, don't worry about it being small; only worry if it starts to get fat.

Cats are pretty much grown as much as they're going to by the time they're one year old.

Because at one year she is full grown.

Do you mean that you have had her since a young kitten and she has not gotten any larger? That sounds like a medical problem that should be discussed with a vet.
