Here's a similar idea, but it stays on the ground (no dive bombing when the batteries get low).

Looks like it's not quite out yet, but something to keep in mind for next year...

what if the batteries die while it's above your head... i usually use the radio fuction for alarm and put it full blast... although this morning my 8 year daughter had to wake me and tell me to turn it off.. it was on for about an hour

I have that! It broke when it went into my fan! It was expensive, too!
