Here's a poem of his:

Daybreak in Alabama
fromThe Collected Poems of
Langston Hughes

When I get to be a composer
I'm gonna write me some music about
Daybreak in Alabama
And I'm gonna put the purtiest songs in it
Rising out of the ground like a swamp mist
And falling out of heaven like soft dew.
I'm gonna put some tall tall trees in it
And the scent of pine needles
And the smell of red clay after rain
And long red necks
And poppy colored faces
And big brown arms
And the field daisy eyes
Of black and white black white black people
And I'm gonna put white hands
And black hands and brown and yellow hands
And red clay earth hands in it
Touching everybody with kind fingers
And touching each other natural as dew
In that dawn of music when I
Get to be a composer
And write about daybreak
In Alabama.

A poet.

The only thing relating him to martial arts is that he wrote a poem about a martial artist.

you might have heard about him: Joe Louis.

heavyweight champion from 1937-1949. 25 title defenses during that time and longest to hold it uninterrupted.

I have been trying to find the poem and print it here but it was in a collection of his that I saw it that I read for college, I believe this was the collection, I do remember it having a yellowish cover.

5 seconds on the yahoo main page turned this up.... thanks for putting the effort out and doing your own damn search...

http://falcon.jmu.edu/~ramseyil/hughes.htm

now if you were looking for a martial arts figure with this name... you need to be more specific.

what does this have to do with martial arts again?
