What do you call a chain that would let you pull it up or down in a flow like the lamps use to be.?

Dont know what you call the chain.But there still in lamp and fan switches.Go to lowes electical dept they have them.

Not sure about on lamps, but on blinds that would be called a continuous cord loop. you pull one way and it goes up and down once. Pull the other way to repeat the process.
