you must be looking for guys in all the wrong places.
i'm a single guy, 32, i don't do drugs, i don't touch alcohol, and i certainly have tons of respect for women..
guys like me don't hang out in the "normal" places that singles meet. i don't go to bars to drink, i don't go clubbing as i have no interest in one-night-stands.. i generally spend most nights relaxing at home listening to music, watching tv, or catching up on e-mails with friends.. so, we're out here, but we aren't as easy to find as those other type of guys you seem to run into.
i think society/culture does play a major role in why so many guys tend to lead towards sex, drugs, alcohol, etc.. but not all guys fall into the superfical trap that society offers..

I beleive that your experence with the current generation of single men may have been a bad one. However, before judging your might want to look at how most single people (men and woman) in general potray themselves, it's really no better. For some reason the dating generation, beleives it is unattractive to be intelligent, this is potrayed and copied from the media, I.E. Jessica Simpson and other role models. Your best chance is to look for a young man outside the cultural influences.

Ultimately a man learns from his father. The way a boy sees his dad treat his mother, is usually the way he will treat a woman. Also watch out to see how the man treats his mother; more than likely, he will treat you the same way. You are right though, for the most part men treat women awful. You can hardly find a man willing to even open the door for a lady anymore. It's really sad.

Yes!!!!!! I am 27 and finally met a guy I am crazy about. He is 39. He does not look or act his age but he knows how to look at me, talk to me, touch me. He really cares and lets me know all the time. He also has his s**t together and can take care of me if he needed to. He believes in the old ways.. the Woman not working only taking care of him and helping him with his business and he is the provider. I can live with that but it is a lot of work on both of our parts but we also get to have a lot of fun. Go for an older man. The older generation is a lot better than the younger druggies I used to date, only care about where the next party will be and going to the bars, and bragging to their friends about getting laid.

i think you just need to reconsider where you're meeting these guys at. it's hard finding an adequate mate...single girls (18-30) arn't exactly a catch to brag about these days either.

No. I find the exact opposite. Perhaps you are just seeking out and attractive the wrong type.

I blame the previous generation. WE(yes,i include myself) were so wrapped up in "getting ahead" that we forgot to teach our sons the things they needed to know.

it's because we were raised by ex-hippies with thin moral fabric and no idea of how this country became #1 and care too much about what other people think about them

It's the way their mom's raised them. Without tough love and a strong sense of what is right and wrong. She was at work and/or it was always about what he wanted,
