You are very slender and limited fat pads to insulate the sound. You are having what is called telescoping sound..everything becomes exaggerated..is similar to bone conduction.. relative to sounds.. Your tummy grumbling would be a prime example of what I refer to. Do you have any restrictions in your activities? An extra heavy heartbeat could be suggestive of another problem but should have been found if you have been under doctors care and had an examination in the past 5 years or so.

Carotid (neck) best, brachial (inside upper arm), radial (wrist below thumb), femoral (inside leg near groin), popliteal (behind knee), pedal (upper foot), plantar (near ankle) and if you're lucky on the temple. Don't use thumb though - you'd be taking yours not theirs!

Actually, 6 pulses. Both sides of your neck towards the front of your throat, down low kind of right below your Ovaries, and both wrists.

Neck, wrists, thumbs. If you notice a nurse never uses her thumb to check your pulse. Thats because she could get a false reading because of her own.

I have the same problem and I am now 26 years old. I have had doctors look at it and they tell me not to worry about it. Apparently, I (you) have some sort of nerve impingment that is aggravated by lying down, according to the doc. You'll be OK.
