I broke up with my ex this summer. we dated for about 4 yrs. my birthday is on the 19th. He wants to buy me roses and jewely and stuff like that but i dont feel like it would be right accepting these gifts from him. He also wnats to come visit me. i recently moved from oklahoma to minnesota about 4 months ago. Also i dont think my boyfriend would like it too much. what should i do?

You should explain to him that you dont feel comfortable. It sounds like he still cares for you, and if thats the case you should let him down easy. but make it clear that you are moving on with your life and although you want to remain friends it would not be fair or appropriate for him to do these things considering you have a new man. hopefully, he is a true friend and will understand. also, you should talk it over with your new man and let him know whats going on. honesty is always the best policy.

you shouldn't except those things from him because he will probably get the wrong idea if you do!! just let him know that you are in a committed relationship and it is not appropriate that you except those kinds of gifts from and ex bf!!

u just have to tell your x that you dont think its right and that over is over and that you dont want his gifts.
