because you are scary and he does not want to turn his little back on you!
Kidding, kidding. He loves you. Wants to be with you, sees you as his parent.

He's not interested in what your doing, just interested in you. Dogs are loyal and when they feel great attachment to a person, they will follow. I love it when my dog follows me, just pet him and if you want him to stop tell him to stay and give him a treat. It will take awhile before he learns the stay command. Dogs are pack animals, they are submissive to the alpha dog and will want nothing more than to keep you happy.
If it's too much of an inconvenience try giving him a toy to keep him occupied, a little attention goes a long way.

awwww - it's because he loves you and wants to tag along. my cat and dog do the same thing. it gets abit annoying in the morning when i'm half asleep and have a little circle of animals following me around the house - but i know it just because they're happy to see me!

Because you are what his personal world revolves around. That is a normal thing for dogs with their owners. You are making me sad for this little innocent.

He's a dog.
Dogs are pack animals.
You are his pack and he wants and needs to be with you.
Why did you get a dog if you don't want to hang around with it?
