A certain religious follower that got busted brings this to mind....

These 'leaders' you so blindly follow are probably just gay themselves and that is why they preach against this, because they're afraid to admit it. Preaching out against it to a crowd is their self-assurance they won't be questioned or busted, but it's just fear of themselves and denial. Same could be said of the bible authors themselves that wrote about 'homosexuality being wrong to God'....they were probably gay.

No, it's called reading from the Bible. There are many different verses that talk about sexual immorality. Some things are just wrong, according to the Bible.
So wait, with your logic, does that mean that the books that deal with murderers were written by people who were closet murderers?
I'm not saying that homosexuality is like murder, but both are wrong according to the Bible.

Ted Haggart or whatever his name is, is the EXCEPTION to the rule, he is NOT the rule!

Thumbs down for telling the TRUTH? It IS what the Bible says! Do I need to post references? You asked, I gave my answer. Am I supposed to lie? That's a sin!

its sad that a handful of corrupt people can ruin the reputation of religion for everyone. If you want to look at it as every "minister or Priest" is gay and corrupt that's your choice. But that is also making a gross generalization. I dont understand why you would make a statement saying people who preach against homosexuality are gay themselves. That's like saying, George Bush is an idiot, therefore so are all americans

Only God knows the heart of a man.

I cannot and will not judge them.

Homosexuality is no worse a sin than lying so I don't know why every one acts like it is the end of the world and harps on about it so much. There is still restoration for those people just like there are for other sinners.

IF I FOUND A RELIGIOUS LEADER who was harping on all the time about any one topic I would have to wonder what God was dealing with them about.

I don't follow Ted Haggard,or any other preacher.I follow God.In fact,I hadn't even heard of Ted Haggard before all of this was reported by the media. If preaching against something strongly meant that you secretly supported it,I would be a murderer.Would you? After all,you say murder is wrong, don't you?
See where that sort of silly thinking is wrong?

If everyone was homosexual then the human race would die out. So I don't think you have it right. And think about it logically...most religions aren't perpetuated or increased by converts, but by children of existing members. If the congregation was mostly homosexual then the religion itself would probably die out.

Having said that, I think that the biological perpetuation issue is why homosexuality isn't natural. Not that there is anything wrong with people who are homosexual, but you have to wonder why some people think being homosexual is part of the natural order.

Yep, I've always thought the authors of the Bible were closet cases. Doesn't it seem pretty obvious now, given what we've seen? The essence of humanity has not changed. Only the cloak of religion has become more transparent.

edit in re: "Paul Cyp": "So you think these priests are also thieves, adulterers, murders, rapists, abortionists, drug dealers, drunkards, idolaters, terrorists, because they preach against these kinds of things too?" Funny you mention these because: Yes, on "thieves (for obvious reasons), adulterers (duh!), murderers (religious wars and probably some of the holders of their secrets), rapists (again, duh!), abortionists (the nuns they knock up), drug dealers and drunkards (Yes, many preachers/priests are addicts. Are you denying?) idolators (ever seen the inside of a Catholic church? Also, the worship of money), terrorists (What about the terror inflicted on gays and non-believers?). You might want to add, "crimes against humanity, fraud, false advertising, tax evasion, child abuse. . . " But you'll never hear them preach against those things; they're not "important" enough.

Gee, then I guess we should assume that these priests and ministers are also closet thieves, adulterers, murders, rapists, abortionists, idolaters, drug dealers, drunkards, terrorists, because they preach against these kinds of things too? Did it ever occur to you that some people simply uphold what is right and good? Or is your faith in humanity so damaged that you can't believe that is true?

No, the historic teaching of Christianity is that homosexual acts are morally wrong. To presume that all who hold to the historic tenets of the Christian faith are ipso facto hiding their own homosexual tendencies, would stretch credulity beyond reasonable limits.

I suppose that could make sense. People do tend to live in denial pretty deeply until they learn to accept themselves!

I feel sorry for you.you are so blind.can't you see that if one is caught in a transgression that the media swarms to it yet the one in millions you forget the millions.the bible states that homosexuality is an abomination unto GOD.just because people make a mess of it doesn't make it right.
