So we're in our 20s...is the XBox too expensive of a gift for me to buy for him? We've been going out for just under a year...in our mid 20s.

Yes. I would at best offer to pay for half of it. And why are you buying him something that will take his attention away from you anyways?

Not really . Dose he like the xbox 360 and if you really love him you would pay any price for a gift for him .

no way, get it. I have the old one and would love for my mate to buy the 360 for me. LOL
On the serious side, give from your heart whether it is big, small, something you make vs. something that is materialistic. Make it from your heart what ever it is. If you don't buy the 360 for him, buy it and send it to me. LOL
