The chicken came out of an egg, one of the direct predecessors of the chicken was probably a better flyer than the chicken, the other direct predecessor was probably a flightless bird such as the Dodo.
It is possible for a new breed of animal to come from two different breeds, in which case the egg came first.
It is allegedly possible for animals to gradually change as in evolution, in which case the first animal to actually be a chicken, came out of an egg from something not quite a chicken, in which case the egg came first.
It is alleged by the bible that God made all the birds on the 5th day and allowed them to fly over the firmament. If God made the Chicken, as chickens are now, it would have a hard job flying over the firmament.
Today's bird known as a chicken, according to these three theories, came from an egg, which came from something which wasn't a chicken.

Well according to the bible God made two of all living things, humans , animals and fowl, so I would say the chicken did, Because the egg is a baby to the chicken, like a fetus is a baby to us.

From memory people usually chuck eggs first before they throw chickens but the reverse may apply in Khazakstan

Since birds evolved from reptiles, the egg was there much much before the chicken was even designed. Only, it was a reptile egg.
