my 2 kids went through this stage
when she is hungry she will eat
sometimes a child's mind is so active that they are not able to nor do they want to sit still to eat
offering or making available healthly foods raisins
peanut butter crackers etc can get them to eat
somtimes as adults we do not realize how much is enough for a younger child
if there is a problem i am sure the pediatrician will see it when she goes for a check up
this is normal

They go through stages. My nephew did the same thing. My niece is now doing it. You may have to offer her smaller more frequent meals. Make it fun, like dipping things into dips. Celery into a ranch dip, Apples into a carmel sauce for flavor. Finger foods. Make sure she is still drinking her liquids so she isn't dehydrated. Here is some information I got off a website about 5 year olds:

Height and Weight
By 5 years of age, an average child is 43 ½ inches tall and weighs about 41 pounds. At 5 years of age, height can range from 40 to 47 inches and weight can range from 34 to 52 pounds.

Nutrition
A 5-year-old child needs about 1,700 calories each day. This is more than half the number of calories required by adult men. However, children have less than half the stomach capacity of an adult. The young child needs to eat small, but more frequent meals to have enough energy for growth and other activities. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon nutritious snacks are important for the young child’s physical development.

Hates to eat anything good for her. Give her cake and candy shes fine. My daughter has tried everything.Punishing her dont do know good. She eats when shes ready.

I promise, once she gets hungry enough she will. The more you try to push the more she may rebel. If you know of a tasty treat that she likes, leave it in an area where she can get it on her own.

However, if this is a recent development, and she normally has a healthy appetite, you should consult a physician.

if your a grandparent then you have raised kids and you should know kids go Thur different stages either you can't get them to stop eating or they hardly eat at all. when they get hungry they will eat. make sure no one has been giving her food that you are not aware of could be she is already full from to many snacks. if she goes for several days without any thing to eat at all even snacks or bites of food you might want to call her Doctor

talk to her that she needs food to be big and strong to grow up and be beautiful. Convince her remember she's still a kid try rewarding her.. find out what kind of tv shows she watches..it could affect the way she eats if she's worried about her image at 5 yrs old

IT IS NORMAL FOR A CHILD TO NOT WANT TO EAT AT THAT AGE JUST MAKE SURE YOUR NOT FEEDING HER TO MANY SNACKS OR JUICE ECT... AND WHEN SHE DOESNT EAT PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE THEN WHEN SHE DOES WANT TO EAT GIVE HER THAT. IF SHE STAYS LIKE THIS AND STARTS LOOSING A SIGNIFACANT AMOUNT OF WEIGHT SHE SOULD BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR. MABY SHE'S UNDER STRESS
