my b/f and i just broke up, but i still want to remain friends with his family. it was a mutual thing, so there aren't really any hard feelings.

has anyone ever been in this situation? im not that close to my family and have grown to love his. is it wrong to want to stay in touch with them?

No.. How about my boyfriends ex is still friends with his family and it pisses me off to the fullest. She would call and talk to his mother for a long time, and who knows if she still wants him. So I would still be friends with them but I wouldn't try to stand in the way of him and his new girlfriend if he has one.

Its not fair to him. I hate when an ex tries to hold on to my family and friends. I say the relationship was with me, when its over I dont want them around. What are you going to do, hang out at his house with his mom when him and his new girl come over ?? Its just too weird.

Tough one...and won't work. I tried this numerous times. The fact is, in reality, it's over. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Staying friends with the parents is not going to work out. Eventually, it will fade away.
