I've been there. My best advice is go with a good friend....From your school!!! I was supposed to go to my senior prom with a friend who was in college, a few weeks before he called to say he couldn't make it back into town. So I asked a guy from my school...sure it was a little awkward to be the askee, but in the end it was a blast! We had a great time, because he was really fun and easy going. The best thing to do is ask someone from your school, because then you don't have to worry about spending the whole time with them, because they know other people, and have other friends there too! That way you get the best of both worlds....Hanging out with everyone like you came by yourself, and still having a date!!!

Go with a group of your girlfriends and dont worry so much about a date! you will still be at the dance where there are plenty of guys, who maybe were afraid to commit to the whole traditional "date" thing.
there is always a chance you could get asked to dance by one of the stag guys there, and you know, it isn't against the law for you to ask them!! Good Luck

You can either bring a good friend of yours or someone you know will go with you for sure if you ask.
You don't have to be with that person the whole night, so all you have to do is dance with the guys you want to dance with who brought other dates ("can I borrow him for a second?" and dance with him the whole night), and you'll still be able to say you had a date. =)

there really is nothing wrong with going by yourself... i find it better that way all the girls are jealous when your dancing with all the guys... when you bring a date it feels that you have to dance with only that guy all night long.. but if you feel you must go with someone then ask a guy friend of yours that way its not awkward and if there is someone else you want to dance with, he will understand

Ask one of your guy friends to go with you. Shoot, even ask one of your girl friends. You'll probably have more fun with a girlfriend anyway! You won't have the awkwardness you would have going with a boy you barely know. If you have an older brother, ask one of his friends that you know pretty good?

Go to the dance. There is nothing wrong with being single. You will feel a bit but its okay if you really want to go.
But you can stay if you don't wanna go

Don't be afraid to be the askee! Ask someone. In this day and age, it's perfectly acceptable, and lots of boys actually like it.
