this kid on my bus started to eat the pencil the earser and the metal part and bit into it will he die?

If he only ate the metal part and eraser, chances are it will just pass thru his digestive system and out the "other" end. If he eats the wooden part the pieces can splinter and lodge in his throat and digestive tract causing bleeding and blockage. Pencils are rarely made out of lead anymore, usually graphite now, so I doubt he will die from poisoning. But if he feels the need to eat pencils, he either has a mental problem or a vitamin deficiency and needs to see a doctor.

To be honest, I highly doubt it. Pencils do not have lead tips anymore (well, generally) and istead use graphite. Swallowing the metal of the eraser whole could cause some damage to his soft tissue, though. Tell him not to be so silly in future, but I'm pretty sure he'll survive the night ;).

WHY WATCH HIM DO THIS?WE HAVE ALSWAYS BEEN TOLD ABOUT LEAD PENCILS,BUT HOW MUCH IT CONTAINS I DONE REALLY KNOW, BUT DOESNT SOUND GOOD HIS EATEN THE METAL BIT, AS IT COULD DO DAMAGE TO HIS INSIDES,WHILE TRYING TO PAS IT OUT THE OTHER END.

I really don't know but you need to tell someone so they can tell his or her parents so they can get him or her checked by a doctor just to be on the safe side.

they found out that eating pencil can be LEAD poisoning!
