If you are just wanting a copy of your state return, you'll have to contact the government of the state you live in. Try doing a yahoo search if you can't find the number. If you need a copy of your federal tax return, call 1-800-829-1040 and request a transcript or visit www.irs.gov. Good luck.

If they told you its your job to find out what they did with the money, they are lying. Not just confused, flat out lying. I don't see what your state income tax has to do with the local Dept of Social Services. Did they tell you the money was included in your refund? Call them back or visit their office an talk to a supervisor.

the state tax office should have a copy of this information on file and your local county tax office should have access to this info. An internet search of the IRS tax records could possibly yield results as well.
