Yes. I would love to see it make a comeback. It would bring back memories of my first childhood recollections of Mass. And it would provide a common connection to our Catholic ancestors. It seems like "modernizing" the Mass has weakened its mystery and reverence. And coming from the Pope, it would allow priests from more traditional parishes who are located in liberal-leaning dioceses to present the Mass in the way their parishioners would like.

It won't make much difference. Most Catholics who are interested in attending the Latin Mass are already doing so. The indult provides for that, so removing it won't really bring about much change. There is a Latin Mass every Sunday about a mile from my home. My wife and I attended a couple of times, having grown up with it. But the english Mass in our home parish is so much more alive and joyful, so much more community-oriented, that we prefer it. We want to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, not just watch it.

Hi, yes I think it is an excellent idea, the old tridentine rite had so much richness and a great sense of the sacredness for the people, much of this sacredness has been lost since Vatican ll introduced the Novos ordem Mass.
however it will be seen as very strange to a whole generation that has grown up after Vatican ll and the latin Mass would have to be introduced very slowly and with simple explanation to those who have no idea of the ritual involved.
Pope Benedict has said recently regarding the changes since Vatican ll that perhaps we have gone too far!

Mass was held in Latin when I was younger, and was taking Latin in school. I attended Mass every chance I got, so I could hear the almost forgotten language spoken. It's a great idea!

my parish here in florida as it every Sunday at 8am and back home in the Detroit area there is a parish - centrally located that also has it. while there are few priests who even know it anymore.... it's never really been lost. i went once and tried but it dod nothing for me - even though i followed along.... i guess in that respect i'm "new school" (wow that's a first for me) and enjoy fully participating in the mass.
even at the NO mass, we often have some parts in latin.

Latin Mass is pretty cool. My church has it every sunday. It's very pretty to hear it in Latin (though the homily is in english). I try to go to the spanish mass for Our Lady of Gudalupe every year because I enjoy hearing the mass said in different languages.

I think its good. I feel with some of the changes made lately we have lost some of our reverence at Mass. Maybe this will bring back some of what we have lost.
God bless,

why can't believers do whatever they want when it comes to worshipping God?
why do they have to obey some 75 year old man with a pointy hat halfway across the globe?
sounds like tyranny.
NOT what Jesus had in mind.
