Use a plunger. Seriously. My friend did it out of exasperation, and it actually worked!

You could try an OTC (over the counter) earwax removal like Debrox ear drops. If that doesn't work, the problem may be more serious than just an earwax build up. The next step would be to see a professional. There is no sense in taking a chance with your hearing. It may be nothing but it could be the onset of something serious and it's better safe than sorry when it comes to your health. But DO NOT go digging around in there with q-tips or anything like that. They are really just for the very beginning of the ear canal. If used improperly, you could really cause yourself some problems.

The best thing to do is to go to the doctor. If your ear is really block, ...... more than liekly he will clean your ear out using a water force intergation tube in your ear while you hold tray to catch any stuff that is removed from your ear. I have had severe ear infcetions before and had to have this preocedure doen in order for the medicine the doctor had perscribe me to reach the infected area.

You may just have some allergies or a sinus problem. Try taking Sudafed. That may take care of it. That's the most common reason and treatment for a "blocked" ear. If the Sudafed doesn't help, you should have your doctor take a look. Could be excess wax or something else.

Seems everyone is assuming that the cause is cerumen impaction. Truth is, it could be Otitis Externa, Otitis Media, Cerumen Impaction, a Eustacion Tube Dysfunction or any host of other causes. My recommendation is to go see your family doctor and let him/her have a peak using the ol' otoscope. Whatever you do, please do not use a plunger as someone previously suggested. That could REALLY proove disasterous. Go see your family physician and be done with this.

you use warm water and an ear tube and the ear will start to soften once you put the water in it. Tip your head over and viola.
