We have a Rottweiler puppy and live on a small farm. We want to be able to go on vacation but don't feel we can leave a Rottweiler with a house sitter. Any advice appreciated.

Just show up and explain your thinking of boarding your dog with them, and ask for a walk through. If you show up unexpected youll actually get to see what its like. Beware of any place that does not let you do this. Check for simple things, bedding, water, cleanliness, etc. Alot of places have daycare also which allows your dog to play with the others during the day, cost a little more but socializes them and burns off energy ehich is important b/c they will be locked up most of the day.

Talk to your vet and other large dog owners for references. Always inspect the kennel before you leave your pet there. Some petsitters are qualified to handle Rottis so you might want to make inquiries.
