This is what I have to say about tattoos. Honey, you can get Hepatitis C from it. It is the most rampant cause of cirrhosis of the liver. There is a treatment for Hepatitis C, but only 50% of those infected will respond to given treatment; the rest get liver disease and die. I also just got my blood drawn yesterday to see if I have Hepatitis C. You see we just found out 4 days ago that my husband has it and that I could also have it because I have slept with him. It's no small matter. I'm sitting here scared wondering what the results will be. I hope my test results come back negative. Please pray for me. I also hope for your friend's sake that she chooses not to get the tattoo; it's just not worth it. :(

Additional Note: A lot of people say it's fine if you get it done at a sanitary professional place. What they don't tell you is it doesn't matter how sanitary it is because part of the ink that is used goes back into the ink vials. To show you what I mean...imagine drinking out of a straw. Part of the liquid in the straw goes back into the glass when you are finished. It may be a very small amount; however, it is the same concept with the clean needles and ink vials when people get tattoos. Once you get Hepatitis C you have to get interferon shots 3 times a week for 6-18 months and there is no guarantee that it will work or that you won't relapse. I sure hope my test comes back negative. I will just hate it if it doesn't, and it's so sad that my husband has this. We have an appointment set up with his doctor in a couple weeks to go over his treatment plan. I think people that get tattoos are crazy!!!!

Tattoos are a risk factor for hep C, as a previous answer said. (That respondant was incorrect about Hepatitis C being sexually transmitted, however.)

There is a risk for any blood-borne disease to be transmitted via tattoos, but the risk is slim in a clean, well-regulated parlor. That said, I would discourage my own spouse or kids from getting tattoos.

that's usually available. whether they sterilise the equipment, one incorrect pass by making use of the tattoo artist and the needle or the ink can substitute into go contaminated. it may be irresponsible for anybody to permit you be attentive to it is not available. despite the fact that that's merely approximately unheard of in respected studios at the instant. you're extra possibly to get hit by making use of a automobile on the way! i assume it certainly relies upon how superstitious you're. in my view, i does not permit the word of a few stranger who could be a fraud besides stop me from doing what i wanted in existence. additionally, is there any probability your mum has made this as much as stop you from having yet another tattoo? i'm not suggesting she's a liar, yet consistent with possibility if she feels strongly that tattoos are incorrect for you she could be tempted to spin a white lie as a manner to cajole you to do what she feels is sweet? an exciting thought... consistent with possibility bypass to a distinctive psychic your self, who has no connection on your mum or the different one. and consistent with possibility ask her (with out asserting there has been a prior analyzing) in case you're in any probability by making use of getting a tattoo. i'm not suggesting those human beings are for actual or that they are fakes - I merely don't be attentive to. yet once you will get an equivalent yet contradictory analyzing then this could instruct on your mum that there is not something to stress approximately and consistent with possibility provide your self slightly extra peace of ideas.
