I have 4 of them, I got them because they each have a special meaning to me. They all have lots of thought put into them.
Right ankle - purple butterfly, signifies me spreading my wings and a new start after my divorce.
Left ankle - heart with a vine, three leaves, each leaf represents one of my children.
Right shoulder blade - a fairy sitting on a crescent moon her wings are open - represents my freedom to be myself.
Back of neck - the Japanese symbol for "strength" this one means the most to me - it's for me surviving my abusive ex-husband.

I've got 2, one is a flower on my hip, I got when I was 18.
the other is a heart and two flower on the back of my neck, I got when I was 22. I've always loved tattoos. And really enjoy body art. And this was long before it was so popular and acceptable.
I've always believed, My body, my temple? well then, great! I can decorate it anyway I choose. I was going to get another one for my recent divorce. But wound up pg with my 1st child. So I think I'll wait and get something that represents my child and my recent growth an individual.

I have a medieval medallion on my upper back under the neckline. This is all black with golden ropes and my star sign symbol in golden tones in the middle of it. I only got this one done a couple of weeks ago. I have always wanted a Leo sign on my body as I feel a real connection with my star sign.
My other one is an armband on my left arm. It is a vine of leaves entwined around 3 love hearts. Above the armband is my sons name Bennett. I got this one done as I wanted to put my sons name on my body. He will be with me for the rest of my life.
I have a few more I want to get done, but am awaiting as we start IVF next month. One is a memorial tattoo of my grandfather who I was really close to. And a couple more of cats, as I am a real cat fan.

i have a tattoo in my right ankle of the eye of ra, i got it cuz it represents me, who i am, it also look REALLY beautiful and delicate, even though im 16 and plan to get like 10 more, i love this 1, if u wanna get 1, go for it!
i really do love my tattoo, its a symbol of who i am and i guess i got it to spice up my life a little lol.
heck im already wearing my skin, might as well use it for something good! =)

i have a koi on my back between my shoulders (my profile picture) and am working on a full backpiece. why? because when i was 18 i got 2 dumb flash tattoos and realized that i wanted actual art on my body and not junk.
i also have a skull on the top of my right foot. it is a memorial tattoo to people in my life that have passed away. i am also about to get a tattoo on the top of my left foot about my family.

I don't have one, but I remember a kid from high school who was a drummer in a local garage band. He got "Animal" the drummer character from the Muppets tattooed real big on his arm.
That was some time ago...I wonder how he feels about it today?! LOL

I have 3 tattoos the first one is a blue rose with my boyfriends name in the banner. I got it because he got my name first. the second is a rose with a spider crawling out of it and that one is on my arm i got it cause my cousin was paying. my third one takes up my whole thigh and it is one of those crying masks and i got it after the deaths of my mother and my grandmother. and this fourth one that i'm getting is because tattoos are so damn addictive they are like lays potato chips..... you can never have just one.

I love butterflies and thought that they are very feminine. I had my first one done in 2000. I was 43 and thought it was time to get one. I had always wanted one, my father has several, but was stuck with the stigma that goes with them, so I decided that at this age, who is going to care. I have yet to stop! I have one in the works that will continue the one on my back. More butterflies, definitely! and will continue on to my shoulder and arm. I am saving the money for it now. It will cost me at least a $1000.

i have a tribal band on my left arm. my only regret is that i didn't have the artist place it higher up. because its right between my elbow and shoulder its very hard to hide. besides the 3/4 sleeve its hard to find blouses for work that hide the tattoo. who wants to wear 3/4 sleeve blouses all summer long??? not me..
why'd i get it? because it looked cool.

I haven't got a tattoo, but when I'm old enough, I'm definetly going to get one. A star. To symbolise my religion.
If you want to get a tattoo, I'd advise something that you wont regret later.
