When reading and answering questions in this section. Sometimes I find it difficult to not be angered or hurt. I try to talk from my heart and what I know. Day after day I hear we are uneducated, we brainwash our children, we are partly to blame for war, we are generalized (as are alot of cultures) all because of beliefs. It's tiring. Anybody have any encouraging thoughts? Perhaps pertaining to witnessing on this site? Or anything else? Thank you and God bless.

There is only one religion the devil hates, and that is the right one. So that is the one he is gonna pick on and try to dishearten it's believers. Your in the right one and it's not gonna be easy but one day it will be worth everything you had to go thru. If being a Christian didn't bother the devil than I would be much worried.Him hating Christians lets me know I'm right on track.

I'm really sorry that the majority of the answers were not encouraging at all; in fact they were some of the rudest answers I have ever seen. I totally know how you feel; I myself have actually gotten reported for asking if anyone wanted to know Jesus Christ and to me thats just silly because no one is forced to answer that question. It does hurt when all others do is cut you down and say that Jesus isn't real and we're all imagining everything. You know what? My friend just told me an amazing story that I'd like to share: On a night when it was snowing hard (the first snow of the season) he was driving down the freeway going 50 (probably a little too fast) when he hit an ice patch and lost control of his car. For a few seconds he was sliding sideways down the road and then his car got turned backwards and it continued to move at 50 mph the wrong way down the interstate! It eventually turned sideways again and skidded off to the side by the wall and then he could turn back on to the road. Honestly, I think he is very lucky that there were no cars around him; he's lucky to be alive! No one can tell me that this isn't God's protection. You cannot tell me that God was not right there in that car protecting him. There is simply no other explanation. It's at times like these when I know that God is the one and only God and He is all powerful and does care for us simple Christians. That's all the proof I need. May God bless you and you're family. Oh and by the way you are NOT brainwashing your kids, you're telling them the truth. keep doing what you're doing and God will take care of the rest.
Psalm 105:4 "Look to the LORD and His strength; seek His face always."

Yes, I have an encouraging thought. If Christians are wrong and there is no God or life after death, so be it. We become nothing and no longer care. But if Christians are right, and we continue living after this life, and are rewarded by God for our efforts, then we have something great to look forward to! Also, some studies have concluded that Christians are happier and more at peace than non-religious people because we have hope, faith, a God to talk to and lean on, love for each other, etc. And if you want even greater encouragment, read Matthew 5:10-12. Hang in there - you have millions on your side!

Not disheartening at all, but then, I'm not surprised by it at all, either. What is said here day after day is basically the same thing that would be heard if the same conversations that are here were had at work in the break room, or on the subway, etc. Maybe people are a little more bold with the anonymity offered by the internet, but it's all basically the same.

Luke 6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

1 John 3:11-13 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

I was thinking about this the other day, about how Christians are attacked at YA and what do I think/feel about it. I decided that I will not become angered, unless of course Gods name is blasphemed or someone is being vulgar/perverted in their questions. We are the salt and the lite, we are the only Jesus some of these people will ever come into contact with. Just remember that when you are answering, and be love, be kind and speak truth. If you are too offended to answer a question in such a manner then skip the question. This site is for entertainment primarily, education secondarily. Just keep these things in the back of your mind and you'll be golden.

First of all, you can't take this site seriously. Alot of questions are posted with the idea of being inflamatory.....they're trying to get a rise out of you. Some people are posting from bitterness, anger, and all sorts of places. Some are just bored. And some people are frustrated with things that happen to them in real life and are using this board for venting really. Don't take it personally. Step away for a few days if it's getting to you. These people don't know you at all and generalizations don't really apply to most people only the loudest. lol If you are not stupid, and you don't brainwash your children and you don't start wars, than it's all good. People who generalize, speak from ignorance. That goes for anyone really about anything.

Sorry if your feelings are hurt but let's be frank. You are brainwashing your children. You don't give them any chance to choose the belief that you are bestowing upon them. You are pretty much pushing your beliefs. Children, especially young ones, don't have any concept or clue to what you're trying to teach them. They're not old enough to understand those teachings. As Richard Dawkins says, it's akin to child abuse.

As for war, it's not just Christians, it's many religions.. but particulary the Abrahamic religions that cause much strife (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). Just look through history.

If you look at population statistics, you will see that there is an inverse correlation between education and religion. The more educated the less religious they are. In fact, the more educated one is the more they tend to be either atheist or agnostic.

Instead of feeling angered or hurt, just find solace in your beliefs. It's called Faith for a reason. As some would say, you're being tested. It's a personal experience that only you can get yourself through.

I have been offended by some answers I see on this site also. There are so many unbelievers here but it is encouraging to see questions like yours. Some of the answers you have received do make me rejoice! Christians need to stay strong in their faith. When I am persecuted for being a Christian, I always think of how our precious Jesus was treated. I can take the rebuffs, because I know that Jesus died for my sins and I have been granted eternal life to spend with my Saviour! May God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand. I will see you in Heaven!

I will encourage you! Keep witnessing and being a light for Christ! Remember it says in 1 Peter 4:13
"Rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed"

--The world will hate us because it hated Him- Jesus tells us this. So when somebody gets mad remember it is the truth you are speaking and proclaiming and that it is powerful and convicts the hearts of sinners- that is why many get mad.

1 Chronicles 19:13
Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The LORD will do what is good in his sight."

1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

God Bless You!

You know what they say, stereotypes are based on truth. But I do understand that many people make generalizations. Peoples beliefs are very personal, many times they are fighting for something that represents them, their world and their wants. When other people say something that contradicts it, it is only normal that they should defend the world that they have created for themselves. We as people are quick to judge and have not learned to appreciate the fact that everyone is an individual and has their own thoughts and ideas about life. Deep down inside they are just searching for an answer like anyone else.
