I quit my job at Pizza Hut and lost my insurance. My new job doesn't offer insurance to me at the moment. Is there someone I can sign up with until it comes time for my new job to take applicants?

Pizza Hut should have given you the opportunity to continue your insurance, under the COBRA laws. If they didn't, you need to contact your old store manager and ask them for the Cobra pacakge!! It's the best deal out there.

I assume that you didn't work at Pizza Hut long enough to qualify for COBRA, right? Talk to your benefits administator to find out. If you did, you can keep your health insurance in force for a specified period of time by paying for it yourself. It's expensive, but it provides you with full coverage until your new group insurance becomes effective. If you qualify, you should receive a letter telling you what your options are and how much it will cost.

Temporary health insurance can be purchased, as others have mentioned. Several companies offer it to cover any period for up to a year. You can buy it by the month and renew it. As others have mentioned, however, it covers only catastrophic events and typically won't pay for prescriptions. It is often less than COBRA, so be sure to price both.

as a matter of fact there is....you can continue your current coverage thru the same company...generally when employment ends the insurance comapny will offer you an opportunity to continue with coverage privately...pull your paperwork to see who its through....if you cant find it contact human resources at puzza hut and they should provide it to you....also insurance is paid in advance so if you employment ended today you may still have coverage coming to you or a refund of premiums

You should be able to purchase something called Short term health insurance. It will last as long as you need it to. Call an insurance agent, or check online.
