Is there a point to your question or is it just for trivia? If you want city or area-specific information about hotels, just ask, otherwise I doubt that anyone will know the correct information as even the Chinese government would have difficulty keeping an up-to-date tab on the number of hotels and resorts in the country.

A lot! Almost all the major cities in China have hotels like Hyatt, Intercontinental, Four Seasons,etc.

depend when in china, tourism area usualyl lots of hotel, non tourist don't expect to find much, probably just motel. total? aleast 100,000 in whole china.
