I want to improve my condition so I don't get tired as soon. But I've heard that running and jogging are much more effective than cycling. Is that even true? What's the signifant difference?

I can choose between jogging or cycling but I'm never motivated to jog while I can easily cycle on my hometrainer watching TV. I can cycle for an hour without any break and just the right heart rate to improve my condition according to those heart rate calculators.

So my question is: why would half an hour of jogging or 15 minutes of running improve your condition any faster than 40-60 minutes of cycling (without any break)?

Cycling is better. And it is much easier on your joints. It is better to cycle 40 to 60 minutes than it is to run for 30 minutes. To calculate your calories expended go to caloriesperhour.com

It's really which one you can stick with is the one that will help you the most.

Another thing: this sounds weird, but just because you can run 2 miles in under 8 minutes doesnt mean you can keep up with me on a bike. Your body gets conditioned for certain kinds of cardio, so just because you can ride 10-15 miles on a bike in an hour doesnt mean you can run even one mile. Crosstraining is actually the best thing you can do if you dont want to get tired as fast. If you could switch off running and cycling, that will do you good. Even if you stick with only one though, theyre both good for your heart and weight loss. Good luck!

The best exercise is the one you will actually do. Cycling has its pluses, it is MUCH easier on the joints since it is 0 impact, it tends to be more enjoyable than jogging, if you have a trainer it is much easier to do in all kinds of weather (and you don't have to worry about getting mugged on a trainer!).

this is my attitude. strolling - enables stamina that's actual smart in soccer. cycling - in case you cycle uphill or for an prolonged quantity of time it will help muscular tissues. in case you're effective with your kicking i could propose you to jog for long classes of time so as that your stamina could be extra valuable in video games.

I would and have done the bike route, its easier on the knees and you don't get chased by dogs or hit by cars.
