I would suggest you contact the jail. Where I live a person in Prison the money has to be sent to people who put the money on their "Books" and they buy things at the prison store. The Jails do not take money at all. Normally it up to the Sheriff of the particular jail. Family and Friends can bring certain items, usually on a list provided by the jail. Most will only take these items on visitation day and then check them for Drugs, Cigarettes etc, before giving them to the person in jail.

You can put money, but your best bet is to make a money order with the inmates name and file number.

Yeah most jails do money orders, call the jail and ask them what they suggest.
