I don't know for sure. That's why it's called "faith."

He does answer personally. I am living proof that He answers personally. It's just that sometimes the heart is not ready to hear and really listen to what He's answering. He will never let a heart that is sincere and willing to listen go unanswered.
But if someone is just coming to Him with an attitude and disposition to badger Him and give Him ultimatums about if He doesn't do this or that in just this or that way, then this proves He doesn't exist, ye-da, ye-da, my question is why should He even dignify this attitude with a response? I don't know a person on the planet who would like to be approached that way. I mean how would you respond if someone came up to you, putting their finger in your chest and threatening you with non-existence if you don't comply with their demands? God gets this kind of thing all day long day in and day out. Just because He's God does this mean He should enjoy being approached and treated this way? That's just ludicrous.
As to God's existence, you and I really don't have an experience base to understand the difference between having God present and not. He's been with us from the moment we were conceived in the womb. He's always been there. There is such a thing as something being as plain as the nose on one's face yet it's easy to miss, easy to take for granted, easy to pass by.
Some people don't like that God isn't in your face. But, like it or not, He's not the in-your-face type. Among the many things that God is that people have a problem with among them is He is a soft touch. When people humble themselves, He's all over that. Why? Because He's humble, therefore those who are humble are the people He gets along with. Some people have a problem with this. Should He change who He is just to suit them? I think not.

Well the fact that you are pondering this question makes be believe that you already know he is real. Basically you should just ask him and if he doesn't answer keep asking him and I promise he will reveal himself to you. Even the scientists, archaeologists, and astronomers are acknowledging that there is indeed a Sovereign, Intelligent, All-Knowing Creator of the this entire universe and everyone in it.
Just know for certain whether you believe or not that he loves you unconditionally and he is everywhere. We all came from him and this life on earth as we know it is only a huge test and a chance to exercise free will. This free will is the only reason why so many bad things are allowed to happen. Not even Almighty God will interfere with our decisions. We are here to find our way back to him through loving him and loving other people as we love ourselves.

I think God exists because this earth, nature, seasons, the sun, planets, etc. are all too organized to have happened accidently. The polar ice caps keep us from heating up too much; the sun is just the perfect distance away; the moon helps control the water levels, and aside from all that are the more minute miracles of a bird feather, a fish scale, a snowflake. Then consider how birth occurs, how our bodies heal themselves, how our senses work... it's all TOO MUCH to have been the object of a "big bang" or some dust coming together in space. SOMEONE is definitely in charge.

Okay, this is just my rationale....but looking at the world, universe, how everything works, I have no choice but to believe in God. Looking at the world and saying no God exists is the same as looking at the Sistine Chapel and saying it painted itself. ;o) Now, HOW I believe in God comes from the Bible. Meaning how I apply my belief in God, who God is and that sort of thing.

During the youthful period of mankind's spiritual evolution, human fantasy created gods in man's own image who, by the operations of their will were supposed to determine, or at any rate influence, the phenomenal world... The idea of God in the religions taught at present is a sublimation of that old conception of the gods. Its anthropomorphic character is shown, for instance, by the fact that men appeal to the Divine Being in prayers and plead for the fulfillment of their wishes... In their struggle for the ethical good, teachers of religion must have the stature to give up the doctrine of a personal God, that is, give up that source of fear and hope which in the past placed such vase power in the hands of priests.

God does tell you He exists- He has written it on every heart of man- by showing them through his creation- Through nature- that is the first sign of Him existing.
Romans 1:20
20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

I guess that would have to be a very personal thought and idea. For there is no actual "proof" that any of it exists..You have to evaluate your self to find your inner truth. I guess for me it is just comforting to think that there is something or someone out there in the universe bigger than me.. So I don't really "know"..I just listen to my heart and accept what is true for me..Seek and you will find..You had the answer in yourself the whole time..

- God did physically tell people once, but they still disobeyed & didn't believe. Now we rely on faith, but if you're faithfull long enough God will reveal Himself in many different ways to you.
- Think about it, people are told all the time don't drink & drive and no matter how many accidents and deaths they witness or read about they still do it.
