hold the ctrl key at the same time you hit the pgup or pgdn key.

ctrl+tab switches between two excel files
page up and down only flick between the pages in the same document!!

To move between pages click Ctrl + Pge Up to move to the next sheet -> or Ctrl + Pge Dwn to move <- to the previous sheet.
