well RAmbo lol i'd say all you have to do is dont think about what makes you depressed....go and do something to get your mind off of it! either that or you need to start off fresh and just forget about it....try at least....depression is a horrible thing!

DOn't worry. A lot of people (we're talking millions here) have been in your position, and all have dreaded being stuck in it (me included). Depression is almost always a temporary condition if it is brought on by outside situations such as stresses of various kinds and worry or physical exhaustion (and even the genetic depressions come and go, and have varying degrees of severity). You have to think about this: One day you felt ok, and the next you started to feel bad. What happened to bring this on?The best thing to do is educate yourself a little on the subject of depressed feelings so that your imagination (which will only convince you of the worst possible scenario) doesn't dig a hole for you out of worry. There are a lot of dreadful websites that only worry you further, so be careful what you believe. A very good site is www.clinical-depression.co.uk. Very intelligent and well researched site.
You say that you have been like this for a month. That doesn't indicate in any way that you will have this for very long. What you may be doing (and what I certainly did at one point) is keep the depression going by worrying. Because I knew nothing about the illness, and because the internet wasn't really around at the time, I spent two years in utter misery because I didn't know anything about depression. I just thought I was losing my marbles.
A month of feeling down doesn't really indicate a serious depression at all. Do things to cheer yourself up, and remind yourself all the time that this will lift if you LET it lift. Don't just take my word for it (because the little voice in your head will go 'what does HE know?'). But you can trust me. I read a lot of psychology books once I started to learn how the brain worked. Read around the subject, and you will feel very in control and reassured. You'll be competely fine. YOu're just worrying. And worrying makes you feel low. And feeling low makes you worry... and on it goes. TAke it easy, mate, wherever you are.

hold nothing back the GP will not think u r silly or anything like that they r there 2 help you.
mine sent me to a hospital and i was seen by a psycriactic doctor he diagnosed what was wrong put me on anti depressants pills, they r not a miracle cure it will take time 4 them 2 work and even then they may have 2 b changed till they get the right pills 4 u mine changed 4/5 times. take your time just walk don't try 2 run take baby steps till you r sure you feel better even better 4 me was seeing a community psycriactic nurse weekly still do it will end i promise but it takes time best of luck pls see your gp first as soon as poss ps exscuse spelling mistakes take care my friend you arent alone

Oh yes, you'll get over this. One month is not long at all. It probably came on do to something that happened in your life such as losing your job, a girlfriend, etc. It it continues to bother you go see a physician for anti-depressants which may or may not work. But for now, try to find out what is causing you to feel this way. And concentrate on doing the things that make you happy, such as artwork, going to concerts, etc. Hang out with people that uplift you. The more you hang out with people that bring you down the more it will wear you down physically and emotionally. Good luck!

If it`s clinical depression you will get over it with the right medication, but it could take some time. I had depression when I was 19 and developed a strange phobia about "modern things." My doctor was very good though and prescribed some good meds. I carried on as normally as I could which was difficult at times `cos I also suffered panic attacks. I did get over it, but it took nearly 12 months and I havn`t had any recurring bouts since.

it all depends on what depression it is: if you have situational depression( your depressed because something has happened a death or bulling ) that will pass but you should still seek professional help or if its clinical depression ( imbalance of chemicals in the brain) you might need to go see professional help for awhile and maybe consider medication and CBT therapy. i have had clinical depression for 7 years now and i have been in a psychiatric hospital twice, i have had medication, and extensive therapy and you know what even after all that i still get depressed but all i can really do is hold on to the things i love the most and keep them very close to my heart in these dark dark times. no matter what if your not seeing professional help, i think you should.

Everyone goes through stages of depression.A lot depends on the cause. You need to seek help if it lasts more than a few weeks. It may be a chemical imbalance and there are drug treatments for that.Other causes may require more intensive therapy but you can be helped. The sooner you seek treatment the better.
