Like what we think of all foreigners, a fascination of their history, culture and what it's like. And what brings them to Canada, or where ever it is that I run into them, like Internet or on my vacation.

I dont think anything about people from Poland, judging someone based on thier country of origin is not something most Canadians do. I would have to meet someone from Poland and get to know them before I had any thoughts about them and still you cant judge an entire country based on one person..lol What I think about a person from poland would depend on what they were like as a person after getting aquainted. I do think polish culture is interesting and unique and I would be curious to know more about what daily life is like in Poland. In fact my neighbourhood in the town I live in was originally made by polish immigrants, the street names are polish Polojko, Buzdygan etc there is a little bit of poland in my town I guess you could say just like Canada is a little bit of every culture.

Personally I've met very few people from Poland but in high school one of my good friend's parents were from Poland. I do remember her mom was a really sweet lady and a fabulous cook. Mmmm... my mouth is watering as I remember her great cabbage rolls, homemade perogies, yummy desserts... oh I could go on and on!

Canadians love Pope Jean Paul from Poland. We even flew him around in a helicopter formation and he stayed on Strawberry Island in Lake Simcoe.

(a Basilican retreat)

It's now for sale though. Curious.

I've never met anyone from Poland....but if I did, I wouldn't be thinking of them as "people from Poland", rather just "people".

I think Canadians look more at the person than their ethnicity, If you are rude; it wont matter if you are Australian or Polish...you are rude. If you are nice; same thing. We may be interested in why you chose to come here; how it has been etc.

I think all the ethnic jokes you may hear can be interexchanged between any number of nationalities, depending on who you are. :)

Canada is a very ethnically diverse nation. We love, respect, and welcome all people.

I would just like to add that shoe s (the first person that responded to your question), is not Canadian.
