It depends on what kind of pet you want and how much responsibility you want. Most cats are pretty independent but they still need quite abit of care. dogs need the most care out of all of them byt are probably the most friendly and have the most personality. chameleons take a ton of maintenance and for a neat one you are going to be paying over $600 for the chameleon and all the supplies. They are not great for a first time reptile owner either you should be pretty experienced first. Chameleons are probably the least time consuming but they take a lot of work and attention for them to be healthy and a lot of the time they die easily and they are pretty expensive. Dogs and cats are in a completely different category.

In response to your entry the chameleon itself is usually around $100 or more the tank can be as cheap as 50 dollars but that isn't for a nice tank nice tanks can go up to a very high price my most expensive tank costed almost $4000. Between lighting and misters and extras that is another hundred. The plants and all climbing materials can cost atleast $100 most times 150 to 200 then you will also need a place for the food and buying the food. thermometers dimmers and thermostats can be another $50 so maybe not $600 but they are expensive and a lot of work, A really cool chameleon like a panther that is really colorful can be over $200 and same with most of the other Cooler chameleons Most of mine have been breeded wrather than me going out and buying them. then I sell them and use that money for tanks supplies and new reptiles.

Benefits to a cat: They don't beg for food unless it's fish, they don't follow you EVERYWHERE, you don't have to take them for a walk, they purr, they don't bark incessantly, and when they love on you, you feel special. Benefits to a dog: They'll love you forever, walking the dog is healthy, they'll guard your house, etc. Benefits to a chameleon: it's out of the ordinary, just lives in a little cage, doesn't cry or whine when you're not home, etc.

I've had 3 cats in my lifetime and have found them to be the best choice for me. They're there for me when I need it, but they don't follow me around all the time, and there's never that nose at the edge of the table or on your lap while you're eating dinner as if to say "you gonna eat all of that?" However, you do have hairballs and litterboxes to deal with. All pets have a responsibility that you have to deal with. Chances are if you get the pet when they're young and cute you'll always see that puppy, kitten or baby iguana in them, no matter how they grow up to be.

Depends entirely how much time you have to sevote to a pet. A dog takes quite a bit of time taking it for walks, training it.
A Cat takes a lot less time but seill needs human interaction.
I have no idea about a cameleon, except that it needs a very specific environment and temperature.

Hope this helped a bit

Dog. Chameleons are unaffectionate lizards. Cats are very aloof and seem to love their territory more than you. If you want animal who will be your best friend no matter how stupid or smart you are, get a dog. A dog always listens objectively to your problems and will usually give you a kiss when you need it the most. They will keep you warm in winter. They will make you exericise. They will share food with you. They will die for you. If you want a really good pal, get a dog. I had my last dog for 15 years and still miss her horribly. I have cats but they are just not the same. I love them but they seem to be quite indifferent.

That would be based on personal preference...also, how much time do you have to devote to this pet....dogs require much more attention and training than cats do....I have both. If you have alot of time to train and spend with a puppy...they make GREAT friends...while cats are good pets too....they are very independent animals with an attitude! You also have to take into consideration how much space you have for your pet....Good luck!

A chameleon will get loss easily, since if you let him out, he'll change color. A cat or a dog is okay

None of the above. Get an African Grey parrot. They're the best. And they live to age 80.

It all depends on personal preference. Also on how much time you have to allot on care and maintenance. They each have different needs, so it would be better to choose one that is less time-consuming. It also depends on where you live and how much space you have.
