I give my cats steak and pork chops all the time and it has salt in it!! They are perfectly healthy. In the old days, cats used to eat table scraps, they didn't feed the cats cat food and they were healthy so give your cat a treat and give her or him the rest of your steak! The cat will love you!!!!

No you really should not. A small piece now and then will more than likely not hurt him. But they have additives and salt that is injected into those types of meats. The most common problems you may run in to are Diarrhea and weight gain. (Excessive weight gain can take years off cat’s lives) Just pick him up some snakes from the pet store.

Yes, that's fine, my cats help themselves off my plate. They are very clever creatures and know if something is good or bad for them and will not eat it if they don't like it.
Cut the steak up in little pieces and give the bone to your cat as well, that will bring out the tiger in them.

Well, it may be ok, but it isn't good. And usually the amount of salt that is enough for us will be too much for the good of a cat.
Also, it's not exactly best for the cat to feed them cooked meat. Cooked in any way. Cooking destroys what they most need in meat, taurine - which their bodies cannot produce.
Raw, unspiced meat is always a safe bet.

NO WAY!! I kept my cat to a strict diet of cat food only. She got boiled liver for her birthday and Christmas Day only. She lived to a ripe and very healthy age of 16. She looked 6 and not 16. I would strongy advise you feed your cat proper cat food only unless otherwise stated by your vet.

giving salty food to a cat is a really, really bad idea. cat's kidneys are pretty fragile things, and are not designed to be able to cope with salt like we can. i honestly don't think it's worth the risk.

I would assume the amount of salt on your left-over steak whould not be excessive enough to harm your cat. I think you should stay away from heavily salted human foods like bologna or other "luncheon" meat, ham or pork (considered to fatty for cats), jerky etc.

The cat won't eat it if it doesn't think it's ok...it's not a dog that will just eat anything! Make sure the cat has fresh water just in case the salt causes a bit of dehydration.

I thought the only meat you weren't supposed to give to cats was pork. We always give our cat tuna in brine when we give her tuna because she loves the salty taste. She doesn't seem any worse off for it.
