I made it! I'm 67 on 14th November [tomorrow] I was diagnosed with Aliens in my plumbing [Bowel Cancer] in 2001 and had 6 months of chemo after op, then it came back and was discovered in both my lungs and my liver in September 2005 so I had another 6 months of chemo, and now I've just started another 6 months of chemo. I'm not fussed about the cancer, it's a nuisance and 'in the way'. My avatar says it all. I usually get about 5 birthday cards, so this year it would be good to get 67 - here - some can be jokes because we're heavily into Tumour Humour in this household. But the main reason for this request is to make you all aware of the fact the Bowel Cancer may not have any symptoms - I was Stage 3 when I was diagnosed - so get informed and go to Cancerbackup.org.uk - they have a nurse you can e.mail if you are unsure or want advice, or Cancer Research UK or www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk - they have a nurse you can speak to for advice if you are unsure - free. Best Wishes

What a pleasure to hear from you.HAPPY BIRTHDAY x 67. Does that qualify. Truth we are in to this with lung cancer in my husband of 38 yrs. Untreatable, they gave him 3-6 mos. That was well over a yr. ago. he's no worse off now then when they found it. One stubborned dude. Each date that passes is a plus for us. 2nd Xmas coming up. 2nd birthday in Feb. & he lived to see a new grandson that had not been on radar back then. We take one day at a time. He had told me he did not want to spend what time he had left bitching & complaining. He wanted to live them just as we always had. So that is what our family does. Good luck, Hope you celebrate a few more.

Happy Birthday to you! I celebrated my 50th as bald as the day I was born because of chemo. My sister, also a survivor, gave me a t-shirt that said "with a body like this, who needs hair" I also gave myself a special 50th birthday present of a colonoscopy because colon cancer also runs in my family.
Keep up the good spirits, it will take you far.

Happy Birthday!
Keep up the good fight, and may you win and have many, many more wonderful birthdays.
I had a friend in similar condition. He was 69 when his mess started. He is now about to be 74, and has begun his own business that keeps both he, a son, and to a small extent, his wife hopping.
I admire your courage! Grace, good tidings, and all the best from my heart to yours!

Happy Birthday and well done. Both my father and a close friend have died from this particularly revolting illness! I am now quite anal (not the best idea) about making everyone around me eat their 5 portions of fruit and veg a day because they were both rampant meat eaters who screamed if they found anything green and not bleeding on their plates!
