I have a dear friend who is almost covered and still looks for the next one. She is a lovely very bright woman with a career, not a drug using nit-wit. I still do not understand the tattoos.

I did not mean to say that I believe you have to be a drug addict to have tattoos but that is what is often associated with tattoos and yes it is type casting. I do not endorse that.

you may not understand tattoos but those of us who enjoy and admire them see nothing wrong with being covered in them. i have a few friends who are covered and i think it's beautiful. just because someone has a lot of tattoos doesn't mean they are drug addicts, out of job lazy bums. you are generalizing and stereotyping and that's just wrong. i'm 25, am married own a house and have a great job but i enjoy tattoos. some people collect shoes, some people collect art. tattoos are art.

I am addicted to tattoos and body piercings. I love everything about body modification. I do not do drugs and I am not a nit-wit. I hope you refrain from using that stereotype again as it is becoming offensive and very inaccurate. I may be a professional piercer, but I still have a business degree and a day job at a marketing company as well as a very full life with my friends, family and boyfriend. So please, don't judge everyone like that.

You probably cannot understand because people get tattoos for themselves and they are usually very personal. They get images of things that mean something to them and its hard for people with out tattoos and someone without the love of body art to understand. My suggestion is find something that matters to you and get a tattoo of it and you might be able to get an idea. Why not just ask your friend about the tattoos and try to project that feeling onto something in your life.

First I'd like to say that stereotyping drug addiction with tattoos is prejudice. You'd be surprised how many people with tattoos are intellectuals not on drugs and not "nit-wits" as you so colorfully called it.

With that aside, once you get a tattoo I have found that there is a yearn for the next and so on. I believe I am addicted to tattooing I don't know if I will go as far as your friend to cover my entire body, but I do look forward to getting my 7th , 8th, etc.

I'm addicted to tattoo's as well. I'm not a drug using nit-wit and I have a very professional career in the mortgage industry. I, myself got my first tattoo because i wanted something beautiful on me to remind myself of my youth when i got older. After my first tattoo I've gotten many more with different symbolizm and each one for a different reason. Tattoos for me are a way of showing people who i am without having to tell them because i'm actually a very shy person. Even though people see a bunch of tattoos on someone and think that that person can only be into bars, harleys, and fighting I have not been to a bar, driven a harley, or gotten into a fight. Tattoo's are something that you have to earn, you have to go through the pain in order to get something beautiful and it's really amazing to share them with someone if you want or to just know that they're there and for your eyes only

Believing that only biker types and drug users are covered in tattoos is a stereotype. Many people use tattoos as a way of expressing themselves. There are many professionals with prominent careers who have tattoos.

I enjoy the rush that comes with each tattoo and piercing. I have 10 piercings (will stop at 13) and 2 tattoos (hope to get to 7). It is such a high for me.

I also enjoy the artwork that is in my tattoos and the different type of jewelry I can adorn with my piercings.

I am addicted, as well. I have seven tats, one very large one from my hip to my thigh. The tats are placed where I can cover them up when appropriate, show them when I want.

I like the beauty of them, like art work....and, no matter what she tells you, they hurt!!!!
