because you love the Lord and you know they do not? I mean you love them because they are your children but, you hate them because they do not love the Lord.

Did Jesus not say unless you hate your Mother your Father your sister or your brother you are not worthy of me? Now he did not mean hate, hate. this is the same thing that I meant because I already said you love them because they are your children. Why do you pretend that this is wrong to love Jesus more than your children? I tell you the truth unless you do love Jesus more than your children you will never enter Heaven. You just want to look good in human's eyes -- not in God's.

That's a hard situation to be in but its also a common one. One thing I beleive that we as Christians should always do is seperate the person from the person's sin. And this is especially true for our loved ones. But truthfully this should be easiest with ones kids.
One thing I've been trying to do is try to look at things the way God does. In this case before we submitted unto him and Christ came into our lives we have committed horrible sins (and continue to) yet he loved us and continues to love us. He certainly does not approve in our action yet his love doesn't change. Its a little more difficult for us to do this. But we can always love and pray that they be ok.

Yes there are mixed feelings for your children especially when they become teenagers and are developing their independence. We have to keep enforcing what God's laws are no matter what. Sooner or later they will be mature enough to make proper decisions, or not. All you can do is the best you can do and make it a matter of prayer to Jehovah.
Can the bible help you to train your children?

Are you joking? Hey everyone, come here and see the TRUTH from a Christian's perspective: "you hate them because they do not love the Lord." I think we secretly already knew this. And ma'am: You should be ashamed of yourself as an egg-donor.
The only human relationship that is OWED unconditional love is that of a parent for their child. Looks like Jesus will be the only one showing up at your house for Thanksgiving.

Ouch! I don't understand really. I'm Christian. My children are not yet grown.....but let's take my mother, who is not a Christian. I don't hate her at all. I love her very much. God doesn't hate people who do not believe, he left the 99 to find the one lost after all.

I know that when I fell away from Christ, my mom was more worried about me then hateful. I eventually went back. My sister has fallen away. Mom doesn't hate her. She'll suggest every now and again that my sister try going back to mass, but that's it. SHe loves us, no matter what.

No, Midge, I will never hate my child. He will always be my child.
There may come a day where his choices go against how I've raised him, but I will always love and respect him.

I do not have confusing feelings. My children are grown and have to make their own way----------just as I did. I would never tell them what to do. I taught them to respect others, now it is up to them.
