It's my opinion that you can't believe in anything without acknowledging the existence of it's opposition...But that's just me.

Yes because that's the truth there is no devil and the bible is just a book like a history book or another spiritual book. There are no 10 commandments just 10 commitments. Also there is no hell. Many people do not like to hear this but heaven and hell exists right here every day. Yes we all are accountable for our actions no one is off the hook but its different than what we are taught in the bible. God is all loving and encompasses everything, god does not believe in suffering and hatred and punishment we do. The bible is a history lesson not a relegious one. I am not religious. I am however spiritual and believe in God. The bible is meant to lead us in the right direction. God would never use demons to scare us into doing the correct thing or use the devil to punish us that is about control not love. God is love and has nothing to do with fear.

Certainly! The bible was divinely inspired, but was not actually written by God, it was written by Man. By rule - mankind is flawed. Logically, there must be flaws in the Bible. The New Testament has many things suggesting that the texts were modified (and even completely left out if the new keepers of the church couldn't use it to their advantage) in order to help build the new church. The Old Testament uses stories similar to stories from other religions that pre-date the Old Testament. Religious dates were set to coincide with existing pagan rituals to ease the transition. (Same for the New Testament - see December 25). Also consider it was written in a time where women were not equal, to say the least. (Women can't be priests b/c God only talks to men?). Religion guides and teaches faith, but it doesn't dictate it.

You and the Jehova's witnesses. You are allowed to believe whatever you want. That is what free-will is about. However, since God id depicted in the Holy Bible. I prefer to believe in the whole thing, not just parts. That way only makes sense to me. But that's me. God Bless.

Yes most certainly, Biblical doctrine does not hold exclusive rights to salvation and liberation from material bondage, the concept of the devil or Satan, which simply means adversary, was introduced by the early church to com-bate Paganism, with imagery absorbed into its doctrine from the Greek God Pan, who is a representation of lust.
God is absolute, no-one can seriously compete with God, however the real devil or adversary is our individual desire to exist separately from God, which is based on self gratification, this criminal mentality binds us to the material world of duality, or cause and effect, therefore it is necessary for primitive religionist's to present an image of an opposing force representative of our own misdeeds.
To explain things in such a way was of great benefit to many who cannot comprehend deeper spiritual principles, thus the conceptual imagery of evil personified clarifies the necessity to remain in the mode of goodness, within the framework of conditioned duality, thus encouraging the living entity to make progress on the path to enlightenment.

You can believe in God, certainly, but unless you believe what the Bible says, is His Word, then its pointless. The Bible talks of Jesus, and you cannot reach Heaven except through Jesus, so by all means, believe in God, because He really is wonderful, however, I would suggest getting to know Jesus aswell! Its about a personal relationship not just knowing they are there

Sure, considering becoming Jewish. They believe that Satan (which means Adversary or Accuser) is actually loyal to G-d and is not an 'enemy'. It's like martial arts -- you can't get really good at it without a sparring partner. To train your spiritual muscles, you need a spiritual opponent.
I don't know if you'd consider the Tanakh to be too much of a holy text but its really not all that much.

No one can stop you. Why are you asking a question like that? If people said no would you just stop believing? No one can tell you what to believe so don't ask questions on yahoo answers like that.

depends on who does the allowing
according to Islam, you dont have to believe in the devil to be a believer in God, but you definitely need to believe that He sent previous messengers and scripture to mankind before the Quran.
And the Bible is one of them..
so peace
