I have been studying the course for 8 years. I have been through the book 5 times and I never saw your quote anywhere in the book.

It seems as though you are trying to paraphrase, but you did not understand the concept and came up with a misconception.

The course is not saying that your life is not real. In fact it says just the opposite. What it is saying is that you create your own reality with the thoughts that you think.

Your dream of terror pain and suffering is the result of the way you choose to look at the world. This works the way it does because God gives us what ever we want.

If we want something different we need to change our mind about the world we see around us.

When we do God gives us that new world instead.

Each of us gives the world all the meaning that it has for us.

I don't see the world as scary or evil. I see a peaceful and loving world.

If you would like to discuss this feel free to email.

Don't know which course of miracles so my answer must be qualified.
If we dream, we may more or less dream together or apart.
Some peoples dreams are a nightmare.
We may enter into their dreams as voice of prayer
or may actually awaken them to face their devils
or lead them into peace and security.
We all need our dreams and our sleep
but true love is the loveliest of dreams
and the truth must be shared.
If we must awake because it is our time,
it may be in the worst or best of circumstances.
May our dreams prepare us for the will of god
whether we sleep or wake.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

We have a belief in sufism, that everything in existence is nothing but a reflection of Gods power.

Also, the Islamic teachings say that the Hereafter is more realistic than our current world...that all this is gonna perish someday and that has made many sufis write poetry that called earth a huge 'lie', 'lie' being that which is unreal..and becomes real in the end when the truth comes out.

the truth is God..everything else is unreal in His presence...but ...its real in ours. Real for a certain period, afterwhich it will all fade away to allow Judgement Day to Bring Truth to Its Place.

Peace

can u prove we cant wake up? how do you know your dream isnt just a continuation, that u do wake up, but u cant remember your "awake state" while your asleep, so all u know is this? does time freeze when you wake, and continue when u sleep? (by time i mean the time in the dream itself, not your real life time).
if this is a dream, then in my dreams of my dreams i dream of pain and suffering jsut the same. *shrug*
