hi,

I used to have lovely skin until a year ago when I suffered from stress and that is when I developed acne.

I am been so down and about it and I have tried antibiotics and that hasnt worked, creams and potions from the doc's and they havent worked. I have even tried NLite laser treatment, which says that it works 99% on all patients, and that hasnt worked much!

I am now on Dianette and hoping that this will help, waiting for it to kick in. I have red marks where some of my spots used to be, they look like scars but they arent, has anyone had this before?

I am even tried microdermabrasion, but it hasnt improved anything. Surely there has to be something that works and how do i get rid of these red marks??

Thanks - sorry to go on but it is really getting my down.

To cure acne you must cure the gut (gastrointestinal tract). Stress is well known to cause serious disruption of gut function (especially if you add a medical drug or two to the mix - e.g. antacids, antibiotics, or NSAIDs like Motrin, Advil or Aspirin).

Your doctor is not likely educated on this issue, so you may need to educate yourself (or find a Certified Clinical Nutritionist [CCN], Chiropractor, Naturopathic Physician, or that rare Medical Doctor that is trained in nutrition).

Sherry Rogers, M.D. has written an excellent book on how to heal the gut (you do NOT have to have any 'stomach or bowel problems' to have gut problems - many people are asymptomatic at the gut level). The book is called: "No More Heartburn". Do not let the title mislead you, this book is about healing all kinds of gut problems, especially leaky gut syndrome and intestinal dysbiosis (the two likely factors in your acne). The book is available at Amazon.com and I highly recommend it.

I hope you find this helpful. Best wishes and good luck.

P.S. Many of the acne drugs doctors like to use are virtually guaranteed to cause gut problems! This may be why their use does not 'cure' your problem, but literally prolongs it!

Yes during stressful times I have suffered with acne. It feels very embarrassing. Try a sun bed. Be sensible about how often you use it. Also drink lots of water. The red marks with fade but you can get some cream that will fade them. Try and get some exercise too. it will go but worrying won't help. it will just take time. The diannette may really help.
Also using harsh cleansers will only cause your skin to produce more oil. I recommend a gentle non-oily cleanser and toner.
Perhaps a facial scrub once a week. One that is unperfumed and gentle.
It is not that your skin is dirty though. You have acne because your hormones are working differently triggered by the stress, which is ongoing due to your worry about your skin. I feel for you. Just remember it isn't the end of the world. It is temporary and you have your life and health.
Be blessed.

Hi. I dont know if you would call it acne but I did have quite al ot of spots when I was younger. Luckily for me it wasn't too bad and after trying various creams, washes, shaving regimes etc mine have cleared up.
I am still prone to spots and have some scars but now I just live with it. They aren't that bad.
Sometimes they will just clear up as you get older. It may be that you are still under stress and that is still the cause.
Also I have read up alot and you have to be very patience. If you make a change in your regime it can take 6 months before you start to see an real improvement. From what I have read it seems like it is just trial and error. Sorry I cant be more help.

1 Stop worrying you are making it worse! If Stress caused it then it will keep it going!
2 You sound like your'e trying everything but not giving any the time to work. There are no instant cures whatever the adverts say.
3 Hide red marks with a medicated blemish stick available at Chemists. They WILL fade!
4 Dont squeeze spots EVER you spread the germs around and get more. That applies to Black Heads too.
5 Cleanse your face morning and night and use a mild facial scrub. Harsher ones also make it worse.
6 Keep any cosmetics to a minimum.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Welcome to my world! Also got hit with the acne stick and have the red marks to prove it. Bio-Oil is great :-)

Here are my tips:

1) If you're stressed then Dianette won't work. Trust me.
2) Give up caffeine. It's hard but it works.
3) Drink lots of water. Warm water is the easiest to digest :-)
4) Re-evaluate your lifestyle. The stress isn't going to help things.
5) Keep yourself clean!

My skin is a lot better since I did the above :-)

I can empathise with you after years too many to mention I was acne free until I became very stressed. Stress has a great impact on health but is often poopoed by many.

I tried different methods to get rid of it and nothing worked that was until I started drinking lots of water daily and de stressed by exercise. It has helped greatly and it is only when I eat strongly spiced foods that I sometimes get a very mild reoccurrance of the acne.

Try the water and regular excercise. All the best to you.

Stress can trigger that and i sure you know it, also its very important to not over medicate your face that can cause more damage. Also if you wear make up try something that isn't heavy or harsh on your face. salt water is great for your skin but don't forget to moisturize. cranberry juice and water are all you should be drinking, but it could be an internal problem like a hormonal in balance, getting your blood checked for that is very helpful,
good luck and cheer up

I was prescribed Roacutane' after years of trouble and years of treatment with other drugs...Roacutane is a powerful drug and has many side affects (which don't last when you stop)...have a word with your Doctor about seeing a specialist who can prescribe it.
