I have a couple of hours, don't want too expensive of a cut and recently have had pot roast. Any ideas (it doesn't have to be beef)? The weather is cold, wet and gloomy. I want to make my husband happy when he comes home.

What is a guy's "dream" dinner?

I have desert already planned....

try a big pot of chili
you can use the pot roast meat if you wish...just chunk it up and fry it like you would the hamburger and add all the other things you want.
I also like to have cheese, chopped onion, and sour cream on top to add to it.
that sounds good...think that will be dinner for me too
to add....if you have any corn tortillas you can fry those up for dipping
yep that is dinner

Roast Beast - Stay away from pot roast - acid reflux
Could be a cheaper roast, but don't overcook it.
You'll have to do a side sauce to make it edible. some drippings
with OXO Beef, water and flour.

How about pork tenderloin with a teriyaki sauce. Mmmmmm.
with rice side.

When I want to make something quick and easy and delicious I turn to this recipe...It's a brocolli and cheese chicken casserole

INGREDIENTS
-can of brocolli cheese soup (Campbell's)
-2 or more chicken breasts (depending on how many your feeding)
-shredded cheddar cheese
-bread crumbs 2 tbs
-butter 1tbs
-frozen brocolli florets
-13x9 baking dish
-1/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare the brocolli as instructed on the package. Once the brocolli is cooked spread it on the bottom of the pan until you have an even layer. Boil the chicken breasts until they're completely cooked and cut them into cubed pieces and place them on top of the brocolli also in an even layer. Combine the milk and cheese and brocolli soup until well mixed. then pour over brocolli and chicken. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top as much as you desire. Next melt the tablespoon of butter and mix with bread crumbs and crumble on top of entire dish. Place the dish in the oven and let cook for 20 minutes.

I hope this helps you!....good luck with dinner!

One meal my boyfriend (mr picky) enjoyed was chicken fried steak. The meat can be good or medium quality cubed steak, dredged in seasoned flour and buttermilk/water mix and pan cook in olive oil for liteness. Couple with some cream gravy from the pan and mix up some insta-spuds with a little much garlic powder and a pinch of parsley for color.

My dream dinner is always good old steak & potatoes.

Au gratin potatoes with cheese melting on top, and a steak alongside cooked medium. Always a pleasing dinner for me.

If you are not sure what to make, then steak is ALWAYS a good fall-back.

Whatever you do, stay away from anything with the term "casserole!"

Well if your "desert" is what I think you are hinting at, you may want to have something light.

Go with a pasta and salad.
Something like ravioli or tortolini, nothing to heavy.
