According to D. J. Conway's "Animal Magick," the magical attributes of spiders are: wisdom, creativity, new life. Being industrious. Be cautious: you are involved in a tempting but entangling situation. Bringing divinde inspiration and creativity. Beginning a new project or becoming pregnant.

What you are speaking about here plays into Native Aboriginal Spirituality. It is believed in this path that all the creatures on our earth have inherent "medicine."
Medicine is looked at differently by Native Americans. It doesn't mean a cure for an illness but rather the specific qualities of a creature that you can share. So, a person with say, Hummingbird Medicine would be someone who lives joyously for the most-part.
This also plays into the magik of a particular creature. Something that they are able to do on a spiritual level that we are not able to do. Consequently, if a particular creature has made its presence known in your life, it could mean that you share some of the same aspects of this creature, or, the creature is trying to help or aid you in its area of magikal expertise. So with this in mind,
You need to look at all aspects of Spider both characteristically and magikally. Here are a couple of things to chew on...
Spider is considered feminine and is often used as an allegory for "grandmother." Consequently, something of a feminine or grandmotherly nature might be calling to you right now.
Spider is also believed to be the creator of language. She literally "wove" the alphabet and gave us the ability to express ourselves in words. With this in mind, what are you not expressing? Or conversely, what are you being asked to write?
Given that your personal Wiccan expression seems to be leaning towards Native Spirituality, I would suggest that you seek out the works of authors like Santa Fe-based writer, artist and teacher, "Jamie Sams." She is the granddaughter of Seneca elder and author Twyla Nitsch.
Good luck! And,
Blessed Be.

Spiders are very delicate creatures that play an important role in the myths and lore of many peoples as the teacher of balance between the past and future, the physical and spiritual.
To the Native Americans, Spider is Grandmother, the link to the past and future. In India it's associated with Maya, the weaver of illusions.
With its gentle strength, Spider spins together the threads of life with intricate webs.
Spider knows that the past affects the future and vise versa. It calls us to make use of our creativity and weave our dreams into our destiny.
For many Native Americans, "spider woman" stories are important creation mythologies. One of the common feature of those are wisdom symbolized with spiders' webs (for example, she taught the human how to weave). Also generally accepted are the ideas that her "thread" connects the human world and the world of spirits or the "above world" and the "below world". Spider Woman also weaves the "relationship" of the Web of Life and all beings.
"In the beginning, there was the dark purple light at the dawn of being. Spider Woman spun a line to form the east, west, north, and south. Breath entered man at the time of the yellow light. At the time of the red light, man proudly faced his creator. Spider Woman used the clay of the earth, red, yellow, white, and black, to create people. To each she attached a thread of her web which came from the doorway at the top of her head. This thread was the gift of creative wisdom. Three times she sent a great flood to destroy those who had forgotten the gift of her thread. Those who remembered floated to the new world and climbed to safety through the Sipapu Pole the womb of Mother Earth."

Spider medicine is the medicine of the master weaver. Spider wove the alphabet, and brought the ability for man to communicate, and record their history through language. It is through Spiders weaving that the creative forces bring forth the beautiful intricate patterns of our lives. Spider medicine reminds us that it is not ourselves, but the Universe which has the design for the fabric of our lives.

Here is the best definition I can find for your spider friends..lol..
As the "Weaver of the Web," facilitates inner connection and integration. Facilitates accessing one's deepest inner wisdom, and nurtures a sense of Wholeness. As the vehicle of interconnectedness, supports one in tieing together that which has felt separate within oneself. Nurtures a sense of belonging, connection, and integration at all levels of one's being.
It appears you are trying to find your center..And well on your way to finding your truths..Bless you..

during winter you should see them a lot more. being that its cold outside and they seek warmth/shelter elsewhere. that is until they die, as they usually dont have too long of life spans. usually spiders get bigger closer to winter, as they are older and closer to dying, many or pregnant and what not. i wouldnt look to deep into. i hate spiders and they creep me out. i put garlic around my room keep them out.. (yes it DOES work... ^^ )

Depends on what you believe. I don't believe that animals can be any kind of spiritual guides, just companions in nature.
